For a while now Patrick has been asking me when Little Joseph is going to make his transition from the pack-n-play beside our bed, to the crib down the hall in the nursery. Making that actual move though has been difficult for me with each of our children...it's like I'm sending them off to school on their first day or something. I realize this is just one of many steps in "letting go", but for some reason with Joseph, it has hit me even harder than it did with the other children. Maybe it is the finality that comes with it all...that this very well could be the last newborn that lays his head beside me... Last night was his first night down the hall...away from me. The second I laid him in there, I already began to miss him...his little squeaks and his infant snores...his smell and his warmth. Before I know it, he will be getting on that school bus, bringing home his first girlfriend and going away to college. Gosh...time just goes way too fast.

Awww I remember those feelings. Time does go by too fast.
Jess-
I know how you feel. I love that Maddie has her own room now and a more comfortable place to sleep but having her right next to the bed was always nice! Hope you all had a good first night!!
I always have such a hard time putting my babies into their crib...where they technically belong. It's something only a mother can understand. Carl always asked the same thing..."when is the baby going to his/her room?" It's funny how you said you had the hardest time with Joseph...that's how it was for me with Brady. I moved the other 2 around 2-2 1/2 months but Brady, it was almost 4 months before I moved him. Even though I knew he was right down the hall, it still seemed soooo far away and he seemed soooo little still!! Praying for you as you adjust to the next phase!!!
I know how you feel! It was a big moment when Timmy first slept in his own room, in the crib. Love the picture of Joseph sucking both of his hands. Hope you're all doing ok w/ Patrick away.
Love,
Jen G
