Happy Birthday Gabriella Renee
It's hard to believe, our first born is turning five years old. Has it really been that long already? It feels like yesterday that Patrick and I held her for the very first time, yet in many ways it is hard to remember our life without her. This morning as we were getting ready to begin our day of celebration, Patrick said to me, "Happy Birthday Mommy." Cassidy looked at him, laughed and very kindly corrected him, "Silly Daddy, it's not Mommy's Birthday...it's Ella's!" Then Patrick tried to explain to her that the moment Ella came into this world marked the moment that we became parents. I thank God everyday for bestowing this great gift upon us...the treasure in our first child and the honor that comes with being her mother and father.
