In the Garden...

The garden has always been Patrick's thing with the kids...not mine. Truthfully, I just don't have much of a green thumb. So in his absence, Patrick recruited my father to help keep this years "crop" from growing wildly out of control. Each week since Patrick has been gone, my dad has stopped over to do some weeding and raking with the kids. And when it has come time to water each of the plants, the kids have even helped him out with that too (and have enjoyed running through the watering hose in the process). The "fruit" of their labor is really starting to "blossom".

Ella...counting all her tomatoes...

In case you haven't noticed, I am truly a black and white girl at heart....Ella, on the other hand, is not. If she ever happens to walk by when I have some images pulled up on the computer screen, she always says to me, "Mommy, I like it better with color...can you put it back please?" So Ellababy, this one is for you...with a glimpse of gardener Papa in the distance (as a little added bonus)...
