School Days

Little Lamb is over and summer vacation is officially here, but Ella still seems to have school on her mind. She has a classroom set up in our family room, with pillows laid out on the floor as desks and fresh paint brushes to simulate writing utensils ('cause ya know...crayons and markers are only to be used at the table). Ella plays the role of the teacher and we as her students...along with a conglomerate of the kids' favorite stuffed animals. Today was costume day...and we each had a special outfit to wear. Ella led show and tell and we all brought something we got to share. Then there was story time...Ella read to us our favorite books. And a dance party was our special activity. At the end of the school day, we got to pretend we were in space...Ella shared with us the rocket she made and told us all about the earth and her friends that live in China (she's all about China these days).

She was a great little teacher.

She's five...and already seems so grown up.
