Special Day
For some time now, Ella has been asking for a cat. Unfortunately Patrick is a bit allergic and I would say we have our hands full enough as it is, so a cat for Ella just really isn't in the near future. To appease her desires, Patrick has decided to tell Ella that when she turns eight years old, if she can find a purple cat, than she can certainly get one (Patrick of course knows perfectly well that cats just don't come in the color purple!) This weekend though, Ella somehow got on her cat kick again. Sunday morning she approached me as we were getting ready for church, begging and pleading for her own little kitty. All I could think to do at the moment was remind her that if we were to get a cat, Daddy could no longer live with us. She responded to me by saying, "But Mommy, can't we pray and ask God to help take away Daddy's allergies?" So instead of a kitty, I went and got our adorable little Ella her very own Fancy Nancy doll, to go along with her favorite book series...thankfully Miss Nancy is quite hypoallergenic.
Shortly after Christmas, I found a Disney Princess and Tigger Hopper that I picked up for each of the girls and put away for a special day. Well this morning, Ella found my secret hiding place for "special day" gifts and decided that today was special enough to open them.

It seems at the first sign of rain, the kids want to throw on their rain coats, slip on their rain boots, and find some puddles to go jump in. Tonight there were only just a few droplets, but the kids were out there, rain gear and all.
Brody and his boots. I swear, he would go to bed with them if he could!

You guys could still pray to have God take away my allergies... but I do agree that Fancy Nancy will do just fine, for now anyway. Love you guys... see you soon.
Jess-
