Happy Birthday to me and my D80

I turned 28 today.
Besides celebrating the anniversary of my birth, today I celebrated my first year with my first Digital SLR. For those of you who know me, that camera has become one of my best friends over the past 12 months. It's almost always by my side and (much to some peoples dismay), has become an important little part of my family.
My mom introduced me to this song by Collin Raye many months ago...and I hope these words you are listening to as you read this will help further explain exactly why that camera is so important to me...
"Smile, say cheese, pretty please...I want to take your picture. How'd you ever get so big...oh I gotta take your picture. Hold on to the memory...before the whole thing slips away."

I hope you had a great birthday. My digital is broken and I have had to borrow my mom's for the last couple months. I loved my camera and if Santa don't bring me a new one I will be buying a new one after Christmas.

I do like the Collin Raye song but do miss the "In my Daughter's Eye" which I love and have even added to my own playlist. I wish there was a song like that for a mother and son. I have found a couple songs but none that I like as much as that one.

Jess, I have to tell you that I made a special playlist just for my blogspot and I added Collin Raye's I Wish I Could. Its a great song.

Jess, Did you know that that is the song that Melanie had for her father daughter dance? I was going to recommend it to you a while ago for your list, but I kept forgetting!
Love your pictures!

Jess...thanks for the birthday shout out. I agree about the "In my Daughter's Eye" song. Someday soon I will add it back. And yes, they DO need more songs out there about mothers and sons.

Jo...Thanks for your sweet words. Patrick said the same thing about my placement of the camera. My older brother took a self portrait of himself at one point I guess where he has the camera held off to the side...I'm just not quite that created...or talented...how do you focus if your not looking through the lens???

Pam...I completely did not remember that was the song Mel and Breeze danced to at her wedding. I think I was too emotional from all those pregnancy hormones and the fact that Melanie was moving so many miles away!!! Thanks for all the song tips...I LOVE your latest suggestion. I just listened to it for the first time last night.

Alyssa...thanks a bunch...hope you are feeling well!!!
